Midlands-based consulting engineer bolsters team with two new hires

East Midlands-based consulting engineer Howard Ward Associates (HWA) has recently welcomed two new appointments to its engineering team.

The construction engineering consultancy, which has offices in Nottingham, has appointed Dave Taylder as a principal engineer and Callum Booth as a civil engineering technician.

Dave joins the senior team and brings with him more than 15 years’ engineering experience in concrete and steel frame design within the education, student accommodation, health care, leisure, and MOD sectors.

The chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) will be responsible for the day to day running of numerous projects and will act as a key contact for the client and the design team. Dave will be involved from the scheme’s early stages, developing engineering solutions from the project inception and concept design stage through to handover post-construction.

Dave said:

“I am looking forward to working within such a well-established and respected engineering consultancy with familiar faces from previous consultancies. HWA has a bright future ahead and I am honoured to be a part of that journey.”

Callum joins HWA with an educational background in HNC Construction and the Built Environment. His role at the firm will involve working alongside the civil engineering team to provide highway and civil technical drawings.

On his new role, Callum said:

“I am excited to get stuck in at HWA, this role has provided me with the opportunity to advance my career and take on more responsibility. I was attracted to HWA’s modern and professional approach to working with clients nationwide, while still upholding its local business values here in Nottinghamshire.”

Dan Bailey, director at HWA, said:

“It is our pleasure to welcome both Dave and Callum to the HWA team. It has a been a challenging and uncertain year for many and we are glad that we can share this positive news during this unprecedented time. Both Dave and Callum bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be a positive addition to our offering.”
