Rolls-Royce Leisure launch rent-a-desk scheme

One of the Derby’s oldest and most popular leisure clubs has launched a new COVID-secure rent-a-desk scheme, which provides a professional workspace for people who have been working from home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Rolls-Royce Leisure on Moor Lane in Derby has been providing Rolls-Royce employees and members of the wider Derby community with a wide range of sporting and leisure facilities for nearly one hundred years.

Now, the Club is opening its popular Pavilion building up to anyone who has been working from home and is looking for a change of scene, or freelancers who regularly work from different co-working spaces across the city.

Desk renting offers a range of benefits, from increased productivity and motivation providing the opportunity to network and collaborate with others and offering a more sustainable way of working.

For just £10 per person for three hours, visitors can enjoy a comfortable workspace in the Pavilion, with free Wi-Fi, free parking and unlimited free tea and coffee. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are also available and can be ordered at an additional cost via an app and served to your table.

Anyone who is working as part of a team can also to book a group desk for up to six people.

The appropriate safety measures have been put in place, including socially distanced desks with screens installed, additional handwashing facilities and regular deep cleans.

A thermal scanner has been installed, which immediately indicates a high temperature visually and audibly. Anyone failing the temperature scan will not be allowed into the Pavilion and will be advised to seek medical attention. Anyone renting a desk will also be asked to scan a QR code for track and trace purposes.

Rolls-Royce Leisure recently reopened some of its sports facilities following a six-month closure. Badminton, squash and tennis are currently available, along with 5-a-side football for organised sports teams.
