WOMEN’S AID BOOSTED BY DONATION FROM AMAZON TEAM

Based at The Farr Centre, Worksop, Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid provides a safe environment for women who are seeking refuge from domestic violence.

Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid also works with vulnerable women and their children providing ongoing support, advice, counselling and learning opportunities.

The money will go towards supporting women and children who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse in North Nottinghamshire.

Speaking on the donation Celia Syme, Site Leader at Amazon Kegworth, said:

“We’re full of admiration for the work done by Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid and we’re pleased to offer our support to such an important charity. We hope the donation helps the team continue its great work.”

Erin Devitt, Business Development Coordinator from Nottinghamshire Woman’s Aid, added:

“On behalf of the staff of Nottinghamshire Woman’s Aid and the people we support, I want to say thank you to Amazon for this donation. It will help us continue to support the women and children of Nottinghamshire.’’

Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid received the donation as part of the “Amazon in the Community” programme, whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.

Community donations are one of a number of ways in which Amazon is supporting communities across the UK during COVID-19.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering 1.4 million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
