Long Eaton Nursery Group Achieve Triple Listing in ‘Most Recommended’ Awards

There was cause for multiple celebrations at Children 1st Day Nurseries on receiving the news that two of its nurseries had been ranked amongst the ‘Top 20 Most Recommended’ in the East Midlands and that the company as a whole had been named in the ‘Top 20 Most Recommended’ large nursery groups in the UK.

The Top 20 Nursery Awards highlight the most recommended day nurseries and nursery groups in each region of the UK and is compiled by leading peer review site It is based on the review scores given by parents.

The winners were judged from over 50,000 reviews written by the families and guardians of children attending the nurseries, with thousands of nurseries battling it out to make it into the Top 20.

The nurseries are rated on their overall standard, facilities and outside space, learning resources, equipment, ICT, care, activities, staff, food and nutrition, management, cleanliness and safeguarding as well as value for money.

Children 1st @ Main Street in Long Eaton and Children 1st @ Toton both received recognition in the Top 20 most recommended nurseries in the East Midlands. This prestigious commendation is a considerable achievement for both nurseries and is especially valued as it is based on the views of parents and carers of children attending the nurseries.

Gina Ward, Manager of Children 1st @ Toton, was thrilled to receive the news of this achievement saying:

“Being based on parent reviews makes this very special as they are the people who are so closely associated with the nursery. Thank-you to everyone who took the time to submit the wonderful reviews. It really means a lot to the staff.”

The Manager of Children 1st @ Main Street, Jade Brown, was equally delighted:

“This award has been a fabulous boost for the staff who have shown such great tenacity and creativity throughout Covid-19. Their hard work enabled us to come together during the lockdown to care for the children of key workers and they did a great job. Thanks to our families who helped us achieve a coveted  Top 20 award.”

In further award success, Children 1st Day Nurseries has been named as one of the most recommended large nursery groups in the UK. From its humble beginnings as a single site nursery in 1988, the company now has 24 settings, employs over 600 people and supports over 3,000 families. The company is joint first in the UK for Ofsted ‘Outstanding In All Areas’ results according to the latest Nursery World Nursery Chains report.
