It was Groundbreaking… it was Liberating… and it WORKED!

October 13th 2020 - a day we will all remember as a day we rose above Covid-19 and held an EXPO virtually. Businesses did not need to suffer and be isolated any more. Virtually they joined forces and supported each other it was liberating!
Sheila Smith, owner and founder of Your Virtual Business Expo worked with The Big Media House to build the Virtual Expo’s brand new bespoke platform.
"From an initial discussion with Sheila Smith in June about the state of the events industry since lockdown, we saw there could be a tremendous opportunity to leverage our knowledge in Online Training platforms to create an engaging virtual exhibition experience." said Malcolm Stewart, Principal Architect at The Big Media House.
From this the Virtual Expo platform was born, the first opportunity of its kind.
"It has been both invigorating and invaluable working with Sheila,” continued Malcolm, “with their strong background in bringing to life events in the real world, this has driven the development of the Virtual Expo platform. The day of the main event itself had a real buzz, and we have learned a lot for moving forwards - some from the teething problems, mostly from positive and encouraging feedback from participants.”
The show was joined at 10am by ‘The F Words’, a fun packed networking online group who really got everyone in the mood for the official opening by John Whitbread and his Spotted Networking session. John said,
“Such a great event and a perfect day. Lots of networking, made lots of new connections, met some great businesses and had some amazing positivity boosts from great guest speakers. I am already looking forward to the next, and this one is still going!!”
Then started the amazing run of speakers who were all truly wonderful. Richard McCann, Jo Ferreday, Kristina Rihanoff and Michelle Zelli all spoke about their lives, skills and experience to audiences of over 30 delegates at each slot.
To round off the event the wonderful KuKu Connect Power Hour entertained us live from Whatton House and told everyone about the venue whilst sampling some mouthwatering food from The Spice Guy.
Last but not least - the stands. Well what can we say - the 31 virtual stands looked just stunning - and can you believe we sold 31 at this very first event of it’s kind! People watched videos on the stands, left a virtual business card, downloaded brochures. Entered competitions and spoke to the business live from their stand! These people, along with the wonderful sponsors, made this event possible.
The technology coped so well with the demand of over 215 visitors on the day! A truly amazing figure for such a trailblazing event in such unprecedented times.
Rounding off of course Sheila Smith was one very happy lady…
