Local Entrepreneur Supports Derbys Finest Re-brand

A networking group set up to support women in all walks of business life has inspired a Derby entrepreneur to share her branding expertise.

Derbys Finest was formed in 2017 to celebrate and support women across Derbyshire who make an impact in their business or who make a positive contribution to the wider community.

The group recently held a virtual coffee morning to enable businesswomen to share experiences during lockdown and provide mutual support.

These included entrepreneur Laura Parry who recently set up her own brand management company Parry Creative having worked with Cactus Images for two years.

Laura said:

“Setting up Parry Creative has been exciting but also quite nerve wracking considering the changes in working practices that we have all had to embrace.

“I was therefore keen to join the Derbys Finest virtual coffee morning to engage with people that I had not been able to see over the past few months.

“Everybody was so supportive and friendly that I wanted to put something back into the group and offered to design a new logo which I felt better reflected Derbys Finest’s brand values of quality, support and inclusivity.”

Derbys Finest committee member Amanda Strong, who is managing director of Mercia Image Print, welcomed Laura’s input.

She said:

“Laura has taken the bold step to set up her own business during lockdown and we are grateful for her support to re-brand the group.

“The logo is beautiful and something that we all instantly liked so will be proud to use this on our website and communications moving forwards.

“The group’s committee are all volunteers and we don’t charge membership fees so any offers of help are gratefully received.”

Committee chair Claire Twells from Smith Partnership Solicitors concluded:

“We set up Derbys Finest to celebrate, inspire, encourage and support women from across our local community and Laura epitomises what can be achieved by reaching out and sharing expertise.

“The diversity reflects the women's lives from at work, home and leisure with the commonality that we all make a difference to our local communities in many different ways.

“We have set up a whatsapp group to enable people to continue to engage and are now planning a new programme of events to bring women together – in an appropriate way of course.

“This will include social events and professional development sessions – all with the underlying theme of mutual support and empowerment which are so important in these continued challenging times.”
