Derby HR firm launches new HR service following lessons from lockdown

A Derby HR firm has launched a new service for its East Midlands clients following a review of its busines model during lockdown.
Loates HR Consultancy, based at the World Heritage Site in Darley Abbey Mills, Derby has developed the innovative new scheme to address the needs of the increasing number of high growth businesses who are ready to move their HR practices from reactive to strategic.
The company co-owner Sarah Loates said “After 9 years of working alongside SMEs we found that many get bogged down in dealing with re-active HR. As opposed to the underlying issues and HR practices that can help sky-rocket business growth. Our unique offering means we can work alongside business owners and managers, providing strategic HR support.
The service is based on research by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, HR’s professional body which concludes there are four stages that SMEs move through, with distinct HR issues at each phase.
Following a successful initial pilot with local business CoMech Metrology, the scheme is now ready to be rolled out more widely.
Managing Director, Matt Pallett from CoMech Metrology said “We have successfully worked with Loates HR Consultancy for several years, and following a competitive tendering process, appointed the company to deliver a 12-month HR plan with key deliverables. We are confident investing in our HR practices will support our growing business”.
Sarah also added “The pandemic has presented opportunities as well as challenges, and like many businesses we have adapted our service offering.  We hope to be part of the Derby business community for at least another 9 years, and hope that businesses will see the benefit from investing in their people”
