NEW IoD LEADERSHIP TEAM FOR DERBYSHIRE AND NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

The IoD has unveiled a new leadership team for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, with Natalie Gasson appointed as branch chair.

 

She will be supported by Prof Dean Fathers DL, who has been appointed as vice-chair and branch ambassador for diversity and inclusion.

 

Natalie and Dean will be the voice of business for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, working alongside a branch team to raise the profile of local directors within the IoD’s influential, national policy voice.

 

Natalie strengthened corporate governance as head of operations at D2N2, one of the largest Local Enterprise Partnerships in England, and championed the Midlands Engine as its strategic lead for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

 

She is working on her own social enterprise, due to launch in early 2021, and sits on Nottingham Playhouse's Board of Trustees.

 

Natalie said: “I can’t wait to get started. Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire have a fantastic business community and a diverse range of directors, from seasoned business leaders to young entrepreneurs and pioneers of exciting start-ups.

 

“We face an incredibly challenging few months ahead so we must work together to share best practice and develop new skills. In doing so, we can be in pole position to lead the UK’s economic recovery.”

                                                         

Dean is an experienced director and coach across the commercial, executive education, public and third sectors. He is chair of Green Kite Associates, a non-executive director of Diagnostic Healthcare and Needlesmart and a board member of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, where he also chairs the Health and Care Enterprise committee and is on the board’s Innovation Council.

 

Dean said: “I’m proud to be an inclusive leader, engaging proactively with the diversity agenda and championing greater inclusivity at board level. We are making progress but there is more to be done and I’m looking forward to working with local directors to drive positive change and build better businesses.” 

 

The IoD plans to strengthen its East Midlands network through the appointment of ambassadors representing key sectors. These voluntary roles provide an opportunity to engage and support businesses to be more productive, innovative and resilient.
