STATON YOUNG PURCHASE THE POST HOUSE

This week Staton Young Group have purchased ‘The Post House’ on Victoria Street, Derby for an
undisclosed sum through FHP. In a record-breaking deal, Staton Young secured a new tenant for The
Post House within just 24 hours - Lee Jones Junior and Grant Pullen who will be opening ‘Bar Social’.
Lee Jones Junior said “Bar Social will be a casual but stylish place to eat and drink, using quality locally
sourced ingredients, with all the food being made from scratch; from hand cut chips to home-made
desserts. The bar will stock an enormous range of speciality gins and will also specialise in cocktails. All
the usual spirits, wines and prosecco, draught and bottle beers will also be available as well as boozy
milkshakes!”
Bar Social will also bring ‘ROFL Comedy Club’ to ‘Bar Social’ every Friday and Saturday night, making it
the only dedicated comedy venue in Derbyshire! Bringing you four top professional comedians to
entertain live on stage with a new line up every single week. Their original comedy club has hosted acts
such as Sara Pascoe, Tom Stade, Reginald D Hunter, Zoe Lyons, Ivo Graham and many more and they
will be bringing the same level of hilarious acts to their new venue in Derby.
Staton Young are also looking to convert the upper floors into apartments. Lucy Wilde, Associate
Director stated: “We are very pleased to have secured the sale of this building and are of course
delighted to be once again, investing in Derby and bringing something new to the City Centre”
Two years ago, Staton Young purchased The Old Post Office a few doors down from The Post House
which has since been opened as ‘Cubo’ - luxury coworking space and private offices, which they are also
expanding to Nottingham and Sheffield.
