Mark Taylor will lead on International Tax at the global network of 200 accountancy firms

Kreston International, a global network of independent accounting firms, has appointed Duncan & Toplis’ head of tax advisory services, Mark Taylor, as its new Head of International Tax.

Mark has represented Duncan & Toplis on international tax matters as part of Kreston International for five years, and is also the editor of Kreston’s International Tax Bulletin.

Mark will continue as head of tax advisory services and a member of the management board at Duncan & Toplis, and his new role will help more companies in the East Midlands to explore new global opportunities.

Following his appointment, Mark said: “It’s an honour to be named as Kreston International’s Head of International Tax. I’ve been heavily involved for a number of years now, and I look forward to bringing my ideas to life to make the group more commercially focused and deliver a lot more business opportunities to member firms and our clients.

“Being part of Kreston International creates a unique and wonderful opportunity to meet tax colleagues from around the world and get the latest updates on international tax developments. I want to take the opportunity to thank my predecessor, Petra Uylen of Kreston Grip N.V for her contributions and for successfully putting tax on the Networks’ agenda.

“Moving forward in my new role, I want to put a focus on our clients across the world, promote our exceptional offering and create a leadership team of like minded people to better streamline our efforts. It’s a challenge that I’m looking forward to taking on!”

Mark’s appointment comes after a rigorous application process. As part of his application to the Kreston Board, Mark produced a strategy which outlined a formal leadership structure for the SIG.

Kreston is a global network of independent accounting firms. The group is currently the 12th largest accounting network in the world, comprising of more than 700 international offices in 113 countries and employing 23,000 people.

As a part of the Kreston network, Duncan & Toplis enables companies in the East Midlands to access international markets through the expertise and guidance of accountants and business advisers around the world.

Duncan & Toplis is a prominent member of Kreston; an organisation it’s supported since 2011. Two years ago, the managing director of Duncan & Toplis, Adrian Reynolds was appointed as Chairman of Kreston UK and now sits on the Kreston world board. Many of the company’s clients have made use of its Kreston membership to expand internationally or export to new markets.

Mark Taylor began his career in accountancy as a trainee at the age of 16. He has previously worked for one of the UK’s four largest accountancy firms, PwC and he joined Duncan & Toplis 15 years ago. In 2010, Mark became a company partner at Duncan & Toplis and was appointed as the head of the company’s tax advisory services, using his extensive experience in the field to help companies across the East Midlands.

As Head of International Tax at Kreston International, Mark aims to make the network more commercially focused while helping member firms to achieve more for their clients.
