New Leicestershire County Cricket Club CEO Confident of Foxes Future

Former board member Sean Jarvis steps into the role of CEO for Leicestershire County Cricket Club today (24 June) at a pivotal time in the club’s history.

He brings a wealth of sporting commercial experience to the club having spent the last 25 years in football.

Sean joins from Huddersfield Town FC where he acted as commercial director for 14 years and before that, co-owned Oldham Athletic for a short spell.

Despite the lack of cricket being played across the country because of the global pandemic, Sean remains optimistic that the club will come out of the other side stronger.

“I am really excited to be in a position to bring my experience from Huddersfield Town FC to shape the future of the club,” he said. “We’re using this time wisely and a considerable amount of work is taking place behind the scenes to strengthen the offering at the Fischer County Ground, our identity, our vision and our culture.

“At the beginning of the year we launched the Foxes 50 - an exclusive networking club for businesses in the region - we were selling tickets for large-scale events at the grounds, our players were training hard for the new season and we were breaking records for membership sales.

“Yes, everything has been put on hold for now, but the appetite is very much there to revive the club as a vital part of Leicestershire’s future. I have been incredibly impressed by the support from the club’s stakeholders during this difficult period we’re all navigating our way through.

“It’s a bold new chapter for the Foxes and one which I am proud to be involved in. Now, more than ever, the support of our sponsors and members will be valuable in securing the future of the club. I have been incredibly humbled by the level of support they have shown us so far and I am confident, with their support, there is a bright future for the Foxes.”
