Leicestershire-based ESE World bolsters leadership team with new MD

ESE World Ltd – Europe's leading manufacturer of temporary storage systems for waste and recyclables – has appointed Peter Vernon as its new managing director, 28 years after he first worked for the business as a sales representative.

 

Having amassed over 30 years’ industry experience, Peter has held a number of senior sales and director roles within the waste and recycling sector. And fast forward to 2020, he is returning to the very same company – then known as Otto UK Ltd – he was a part of, in 1992.

 

Peter joins the firm’s finance director Steven Raikes and supply chain manager Kirsten Guest to make up ESE’s new senior leadership team. Together, the trio have a combined 45 years’ experience in working for the business.

 

Peter’s appointment signifies the organisation’s growth plans, seeing him responsible for the strategic direction of the company – with a specific focus on maintaining market share and expanding its existing customer base.

 

Commenting on what it means to re-join the business almost 30 years later, Peter said: “It feels great to be coming back full circle to ESE.

 

“The company is very much at the forefront of the industry when it comes to quality, sustainability and circular practices, and it’s upheld this title with pride since its inception over three decades ago.

 

“While it may have experienced a name change and new team members throughout this time, its longevity within the marketplace speaks volumes about its reliable reputation.

 

“But, it really is the people behind the company who have made it the industry-renowned brand we have today. We have a stellar team who all share the same environmental passion and ethos I remember from my first role here, and it’s a pleasure to be back working with some original and new faces, who are all committed to driving the company forward into this next chapter.”

 

Forming part of the $12.6-billion-dollar company Berry Global Group, ESE World BV was established over 80 years ago and its UK operation is based in Coalville, Leicestershire, providing a range of waste management solutions to sectors such as local authorities, private waste contractors, facilities management professionals and the healthcare industry.
