Clearmark Solutions hosts fundraising week and raises thousands Rainbows Hospice

A team of colleagues from barcode and labelling solutions specialist Clearmark cycled, climbed virtual mountains, baked, hosted a virtual gig all and carried out a host of other activities last week to raise cash for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

Starting with a target of £1,000, the Clearmark team was blown away when it surpassed the amount earlier i the week, instead reaching a total of £2,952 and counting.
Clearmark and Rainbows have been working together for several years and have formed quite a bond.

Rainbows opened in 1994 to offer care and support to children and young people with life limiting illnesses and their loved ones.

Kate Golding, Head of Organisational Giving from Rainbows, said: ”We would like to thank everyone at Clearmark for raising such an incredible amount of money for Rainbows. It sounds like a lot of fun was had.

“At Rainbows, we rely on donations to be able to care for the most poorly children and young people, particularly during this difficult time. Without the support of companies like Clearmark, we wouldn’t be able to open our doors.”

During the week, 514 miles were covered in total, with 286 miles cycled, 100 miles run and 128 miles walked or hiked.

Plenty of calories were also consumed, including cupcakes, cookies, fudge, blondies and cheese twists to name a few things available at a socially-distanced bake sale for the firm's office-based key workers and at home bake sales for families and friends.

The week was topped off with a Virtual gig performed by Clearmark’s workshop and warehouse manager.

Clearmark's Managing Director, Chris Simpson, who completed a 50-mile bike ride for the fundraising week, said: “We are proud to have been supporting Rainbows for several years now and are always pleased to help them in any way we can, be it direct donations, volunteering at events or completing fundraising activities.

"Rainbows is a fantastic charity full of heart. We were especially proud  to  be fundraising to support them as much as possible during these difficult times.”
