Leicestershire chefs and restaurateurs celebrate World Food Week with Soft Touch Arts Chef Sessions

Some of Leicestershire’s top chefs and restaurateurs are to hold online  masterclasses to celebrate World Food Week.

Served up via Zoom, the  Soft Touch Arts Chef Sessions run from June 22 to June 28 and cost £10 plus VAT, with all proceeds going to the Soft Touch Café, a Leicester-based charitable project.

Shaf from Chutney Ivy will  be producing the perfect Goan fish (paneer or aubergine) curry, while Massimo at Caravelli will show home cooks how to make vegetarian gnocchi and sauce from scratch.

And, in his masterclass, Dawid (correct) from bar and eatery  100&Six will be making harissa roasted aubergine with jewelled cous cous  and mint and watermelon smash, while Joanna from North Bar & Kitchen  will be cooking vegan favourite spicy sweet potato with black peas, (with optional chicken and chorizo).

To round off the week-long event, Nick at Kimber’s Gyozas, will be sharing his popular Japanese dumplings recipe, while  Pratik from Wigston deli, Not Just A Corner Shop, will be making lamb (paneer or aubergine) cutlets with mustard seed and turmeric mash.

So that they can cook along at home, ticketholders will have access to an equipment and ingredients list two days before their chosen masterclass. A host will also be on hand to answer questions via Zoom chat.

Anyone who sends in a picture to chris@soft-touch.org.uk of their Dish of the Day, or shares and tags @SoftTouchArts #STAChefSessions on Facebook, has chance to win a magnum of prosecco.
