CLASSIC COCKTAILS DELIVERED TO A DOORSTEP NEAR YOU

A new bar-to-doorstep cocktail delivery service is proving so popular in Nottingham, the owners of a local bar have had to take on a dedicated delivery driver to cope with demand.

 

HUGO’s independent cocktail bar in Sherwood is one of the few places in the city offering a drop-off cocktail service so customers can still enjoy their favourite tipple at home.

 

The service has proved very popular since it launched on May 20th, with hundreds of cocktails being dropped off on doorsteps in the area over the last few weeks.

 

The Piña Colada and Pornstar Martini is proving to be the drinks of choice in Nottingham with cocktail lovers enjoying a glass or two in the sunshine.

 

Katharine Shaw is the owner of HUGO’s, which is named after her three-year-old son. She said like everyone in the hospitality industry, it has been a very difficult time.

 

“We realised early on in the pandemic that we needed to change the way our business worked. We pride ourselves on being a small, intimate bar offering a friendly service and it’s important for us to keep that going with our collections and deliveries.

 

“We love creating fresh cocktails and we wanted our customers to be able to continue to enjoy them, even if they can’t do it with us, and the response has been amazing.

 

“We have now taken on a delivery driver so we can ensure that during busy periods, everyone gets the cocktails they want, when they want them and we try to accommodate all eventualities and special requests.”

 

All the cocktails are freshly made to order and served in individual glass jars, customers just have to shake and pour. Cocktail lovers can also pay for a round to be sent to their friends with a personal message on a gift tag.

 

Katharine added: “There are a lot of places opening for takeaway services now but very few are offering to deliver freshly made to order cocktails right to your doorstep. Our cocktail gifts have also been really successful with so many of us missing a night out with our friends.”

 

Alongside the delivery service, HUGO’s also runs virtual hen parties and cocktail making classes with all the kit and ingredients delivered directly to homes. An expert mixologist is also on hand as a guide and there is the chance to enjoy a virtual drink together to celebrate.
