Derbyshire businessman helps deliver PPE to Matlock Care Home

Derbyshire businessman Mike Proctor of Proctor Cars recently delivered 1,000 masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to those on the front line at a Matlock care home.

Mr Proctor is an ambassador for UK Maskforce, a group of volunteers who are making their way across the country supplying NHS workers, care homes and key workers with much needed PPE to help minimise their risk of contracting the virus.

Delivering over 1000 IIR masks to Meadow View Community Care Centre in Derbyshire last week, the businessman was proud to support the not-for-profit organisation who, during just a few short weeks has donated over 10,000 pieces of PPE to various health facilities in the Midlands.

Martin Harness, manager of Meadow View Community Care Centre said: “A big thank you to UK Mask Force for taking the time and trouble to help us by providing the masks we need in these unprecedented times to myself and my care home.”

The non-profit organisation team is made up of British and American individuals who are based in the UK and China - all of whom have combined their skills to set up a logistics structure designed to bring large shipments to different kinds of certified PPE and surgical masks, as well as other much needed equipment, into the UK.

Since the lockdown period began, they have garnered the support of many businesses and celebrity ambassadors around the UK with Captain of Reading FC, Liam Moore joining the team this week and boxing trainer legend, Peter Fury delivering PPE to Derbyshire Covid Hub just two weeks ago.

William Raulston-Saul, director, said: “Many are concerned for NHS staff and patients and a lot of ‘fake’ equipment is being ordered from overseas.

“With many contacts in the medical, military, logistics and procurement professions, we wanted to deliver a coordinated response to help hospitals, nursing homes and care providers with the right quality and quantity of PPE. We are very grateful so far for all the support we have had and we hope to continue this work even more so now that the public are also in need of masks, we must first and foremost assist those on the front line."
