Nottingham based family create rainbow socks to raise money for the NHS

The Orr family from West Bridgford is selling 6,000 pairs of rainbow socks in a bid to raise £20,000 for the NHS.  All the proceeds from the sale of the socks (not just the profits) will be donated to the NHS.

Florence Orr, aged 11 was inspired by the rainbows in and around Nottingham and created her own rainbow.  Sock specialist parents, Will and Victoria Orr turned the illustration into a sock design and agreed upon a fundraising initiative.

Victoria Orr, managing director at Orrsum said “The colourful socks are a fun way to show continued support to the NHS.  Although the Thursday night clapping has stopped, many friends and family still wanted to show their gratitude to the NHS, that’s when we came up with the rainbow sock idea”

The three-pack of socks are available for £10 from

Victoria continued “It’s been really challenging working in lockdown conditions and to really tight deadlines.  The whole project has taken eight weeks from Florence designing the rainbow to selling our first pack of socks, however, we’re all very determined and excited by this project”.

The fundraising initiative has so far raised £9000.
