RBS covers PPE costs for local community

Midlands-based RBS has covered PPE costs for a local community shop in the Newark area, ensuring vulnerable communities will continued to be looked after during the Covid-19 crisis.

With the increased demand for PPE hiking up prices, Elston Village Shop, which is run by volunteers, had to face the possibility of shutting down due to short supply, preventing them from helping hundreds of vulnerable and elderly people in and around the local area.

Thankfully, RBS, who specialise in the manufacture and procurement of relocatable buildings and cabins, stepped in to foot the bill, which included 100 facemasks, 100 gloves and hand sanitisers.

Jaqui Aram, who runs Elston Village Shop, stated: “It’s really important for us to not only keep people in and around the neighbourhood safe, but our staff and workers as well. The protection equipment provided by RBS means we can continue to do our part in helping people get through this pandemic.”

Adam Smith, Managing Director at RBS, added: “As a local business, supporting our communities has always been a massive deal for us. It’s times like these we all need to look out for each other and pull through.

“This is especially the case when it comes to the people who need our help the most, as they’re often the ones hit the hardest.

“To all the carers, NHS staff and people like Jaqui who are putting their lives at risk on the frontline every day, we’re incredibly proud and thankful. The best way we can show our gratitude right now is to help out wherever we can.”
