Family business moves into Lincoln

Boulder Developments has announced its partnership with family-run removals and logistics company, Ballards, to provide storage solutions in Lincoln.

Ballards Storage will be launching at Boulder Business Park on Pioneer Way with 188 self-storage containers, allowing customers to store their belongings just a short drive from Lincoln city centre.

A well as self-storage, secure warehouse storage and office space is available on the site, provided by Boulder Storage.

Ballards is the seventh company to move onto the business park, which used to be a Food Distribution Centre for Lincolnshire Co-op.

Will Bown, director of Boulder Developments, said:

“We’re very pleased that Ballards will be offering their storage solutions from our site at Boulder Business Park because self-storage is a great service to be able to offer the people of Lincolnshire.

“Whether it’s a caravan, outdoor furniture, boxes of old photos, childrens’ toys or family heirlooms, who doesn’t have belongings that are taking up space in their homes? Now, we’re working with Ballards, we can provide people with a place where they can securely store all their items at an affordable price.

“We’re also aiming to help other businesses in the area with container and warehouse storage as well as providing office space which could be perfect for startups, small manufacturers, or even businesses that need to stockpile products or put things away for a while”

Founded in Nottinghamshire in 1978, Ballards is one of the longest established and most well-respected removals and logistics companies in the East Midlands.

It offers secure storage solutions as well as logistics services, including removals and van hire, and operates across Europe, carrying out removals to and from the continent.

Through the new website www.self-storage-lincoln.co.uk, customers can book storage on a subscription basis online so they set up and use the service without coming into contact with other people. This makes the service safe and simple to use while maintaining social distancing.

Matthew Ballard, group managing director of Ballards, said:

“We are thrilled to be in a position to offer customers in Lincoln a flexible, convenient and good value self-store facility. The location of the facility is perfect and this will be the first time in our 41 year history that we have had a city base as our depots historically have been rural. I am excited by the partnership with Boulder Developments - our values, culture and ethics are very similar and this will lead to a very customer-centric, honest, straight forward, and transparent offering at the new self-store facility.

“Self-store is a growing market and a market we know well. I am confident because of the fantastic location that we will very quickly reach capacity. The Lincoln B2B community and the opportunity this represents cannot be underestimated, I am really thrilled to be launching a business in Lincoln and to become a part of the local community. During these last few weeks, we have seen how vital it is to be part of a community and I feel this will only become more important moving forward.”
