Nottingham Agencies Make It To PR Week’s Top 160

TWO Nottingham PR and digital agencies have made it to the top 160 PR agencies in the UK – flying the flag for the East Midlands and the city.

In a list which had a small number of agencies listed outside London – Tank and Cartwright Communications reigned supreme in the public relations industry magazine PR Week.

Both agencies listed just outside the top 150, the vast majority being based in the capital – with Tank and Cartwright making the grade in a very competitive marketplace.

Tank, which employs 26 members of staff, and Cartwright – employing 24 – are both Nottingham-based with major blue-chip company clients all over the UK and overseas.

The two agencies were the only two East Midlands-based agencies to appear in the top 160. The PR Week annual list looks at agencies’ turnover, growth and staff numbers.

Trevor said:

“Cartwright Communications and Tank were founded at around the same time, have similar team sizes and turnover is more or less the same - we’re delighted to be listed alongside them.

“Both companies have a similar ethos in terms of quality – and are massive success stories in the region, working for big international names that are usually found on the client lists of agencies in London and New York. We have a great relationship and while competitors, we have a friendly rivalry.”

Liz said:

“It’s brilliant to be mentioned alongside Tank on this prestigious list. Both companies have stood out in a list which is disappointingly short of agencies outside London. We are flying the flag for Nottingham and the East Midlands in terms of our profile and presence.

“The PR and digital marketing sector is dominated by agencies in London. What Tank and Cartwright have proved is that there is boundless talent in the Midlands. Being based in Nottingham is ideal for both our agencies – central to the country and able to reach such a massive number of national clients across the country.”
