Midlands HR firm provides free advice during pandemic

Ashby de la Zouch-based Breedon Consulting has been giving free HR advice to business owners during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping them to navigate the current crisis.

By providing the facts on HR legislation and the Government Job Retention Scheme, Breedon Consulting has stepped up to give its support during a very challenging time for businesses.

Established in 1999 by director Nicki Robson, Breedon Consulting works with SMEs, providing a high level of people support for a range of businesses, including strategic and operational HR, learning and development and recruitment services.

Since the start of the pandemic, the team have delivered free advice via videos, webinars and email updates to both clients and non-clients, with the aim of helping as many business owners as possible to find their way through the unprecedented situation.

Director Nicki Robson, said:

“This is an incredibly unsettling time for business owners who are struggling to disseminate information and apply it to their businesses. As experts in our field, we wanted to provide useful and valuable help to as many businesses as we can, and we continue to share information across multi-platforms.

“For those who have attended our webinars, we offered a further free 15-minute follow-up call to discuss any specific concerns and have advised on how the Job Retention Scheme interacts with other legislation, which isn’t always obvious. We’ve reached hundreds of business owners and senior managers who we wouldn’t normally have interacted with, and have had very positive feedback, so we’re genuinely pleased to be helping others where we can.

“It’s now more important than ever that businesses are planning for what comes next – looking at the options that they have and really focusing their attentions on making plans to ensure that they get through the other side. Whilst many are breathing a sigh of relief that Furlough Leave or Short-time Working has been implemented, that is only the beginning and companies need to be ready for what the future will bring. We can help with the preparation for this.”

To provide further support to businesses, Breedon Consulting is launching a weekly ‘Question Time’ webinar for business owners, to give them free access to expert advice from Nicki, as well as Laurence Duncan and Matt Bull from Wiserways business coaching, and Anna Brocklehurst from Charnwood Accountants and Business Advisers.

The webinar aims to cut through the noise and misinformation, answering queries that are related to COVID-19 as well as other business topics.

Breedon Consulting works closely with its clients to become a part of their management teams; providing a team of skilled HR specialists who are on hand as and when needed, taking the stress of people management away and developing high performing teams.

Services at the firm have expanded in recent years to provide an integrated approach to people management and Nicki and her team focus on what businesses want to achieve and help them to get there.
