Jackloc announce GOLD award for Best Home Safety Product 

Leicestershire company and East Midlands Chamber of Commerce member, Jackloc, are thrilled to share that their window restrictor has received GOLD status in the national Made for Mums Awards for Best Home Safety Product. 

Awarded by parents, the products are put through their paces in the home and the results provide a clear insight into the importance of their use.  Jackloc won due to the ease of use and the clear problem solving ability to keep children safe.

In 2019, Eric Collins came on board as Managing Director at Jackloc with a background in business transformation. Over the past few months he’s been working to develop relationships within the key commercial sectors of Care, Hotels and Social Housing, whilst also reaching out to parents to raise awareness of window safety at home.  

Eric said: “We’re over the moon that we’ve received this accolade for Best Home Safety Product.  As parents ourselves, all of us at Jackloc are very seasoned to the exploring nature of children, and know how quickly accidents can happen. We are actively committed to promoting the message about window safety as far and wide as possible, and are always looking for new relationships to build on.”

The Jackloc window restrictor was the first on the market in 2003. It was invented by Derek Horne, who was spurred into action to help reduce the risk of falls, after seeing a child playing near an open window in a hotel. He created the Jackloc, named after his grandson Jack. The product was then  marketed by his daughters who set up Jackloc in Leicestershire. 

Jackloc has always promoted quality as the message at the core of the business. The products are manufactured in the UK and were awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2017. Being shortlisted in the awards provides a timely endorsement for the company, as the company is embarking on a rapid marketing plan to grow awareness in the current climate to reduce strain on the NHS. 

Jackloc have managed to bring forward the launch of their new “Tot-lock by Jackloc” range for parents, to provide an easy and packaged solution to keep children safe at home, and to provide parents with peace of mind.
