Emma Adds Forensic Expertise To Expanding Dains Accountants Team

Chartered Accountant Emma Wallace has joined Dains’ expanding team as a Forensic Associate Director.

Emma has been a forensic accountant for over 10 years with a wealth of experience working for the UK’s ‘Big 4’ accountancy firms.

In her career, she has built up expertise in managing civil disputes and financial misconduct investigations and has worked across different industry sectors including consumer products, construction/ infrastructure and charities.

Her forensic experience includes dealing with loss of profits, breach of contract, share warranty claims, professional negligence, matrimonial disputes and misappropriation of funds/ assets investigations, and Emma’s legal qualifications give her an excellent grounding for such cases.

Passionate about her role

Outside of her work at Dains, Emma is passionate about her role as the Treasurer and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Pankhurst Trust (incorporating Manchester Women’s Aid) charity.

She is also North West Co-ordinator for the Fraud Advisory Panel– a charity which brings together fraud professionals from all sectors to strengthen fraud resilience around the globe.

Emma has joined a Dains Forensic Accounting team which delivers a wide range of forensic accounting services and specialises in civil and criminal arenas in the UK and overseas.

The team’s combined expertise spans over 50 years covering expert witness work, business valuations, matrimonial services, fraud and financial investigations, forensic insolvency, criminal and regulatory procedures and criminal confiscation.

Andrew Donaldson, Dains Forensic Accountancy Partner, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Emma to Dains and look forward to her becoming an integral part of the Forensic Accounting team.

“Having someone with Emma’s experience will be invaluable to us going forward as we look to build on the expertise we have developed within our team since we established Dains Forensic in 2014.”

Dains is continuing to recruit new staff and promote from within the business, despite the uncertain economic climate due to COVID-19.

Terri Bruce was welcomed to Dains this month as a Tax Director Indirect Tax: SMEs and Not for Profit, Samantha Mellor joined the Commercial Services team for Consolidated Charities in Burton and Erlando Veseli became an Audit Assistant in the Birmingham team.

Meanwhile, at the same time Mark Gurney was promoted internally to Associate Director for Audit, ten other employees were promoted to more senior positions in Dain’s audit teams and new starters are being recruited for the Commercial Services, Audit, Payroll and Tax teams.

Richard McNeilly, Managing Partner at Dains, added:

“Businesses are facing extremely tough times at the moment and we will continue to support all our clients through this difficult period.

“At Dains we never stand still and are always looking to progress and take the business to the next level. “We have just ended our most successful year in our 94-year history and recognise that our greatest asset is our people. New staff additions and promotions within the business reflect that.”
