Mansfield Homelessness Charity Receives A Helping Hand From Local Developer

Nottinghamshire developer Barratt and David Wilson Homes has donated £1,000 to The Beacon Project as part of its Community Fund scheme.
With the Community Fund, the housebuilder donates up to £1,000 a month to charities and organisations in the local area.
In a bid to support the communities close to its developments, Barratt and David Wilson Homes has made the contribution to the charity to support its work in helping homeless people across Mansfield.
The homebuilder’s Berry Hill development is located close to the charity’s St John Street base.
Louisa Hillman, the Beacon Centre Manager, was in attendance on 3rd March to receive the cheque from James Double, a Labourer at Berry Hill.
Louisa said:
“This is a fantastic amount of money and will enable us to further extend our services to our clients, allowing us to buy in certain food and clothing that we generally find difficult to get donated.
“Without the support of local businesses and the community around us, our project would struggle to exist so we are extremely grateful to Barratt and David Wilson Homes for this donation.”
The organisation offers a welcoming and safe place where people can have a hot meal, clean clothes and access to toilet and shower facilities. The charity’s health practitioner also runs a weekly drop-in session and representatives from Mansfield Council are available to support those in need with finding accommodation and applying for benefits.
