Tennis club in Doveridge scores a funding boost

A tennis club in Doveridge has received a funding boost from a local housebuilder, which is building new homes just down the road.

Bellway – which is building new homes at Dove Manor off Derby Road – has donated £250 to Doveridge Tennis Club to help maintain its courts, off Sand Lane.

The money will help to fund purchasing more facilities and ground maintenance.

Louise Newbitt of Doveridge Tennis Club, said:

“We thank, most warmly, Bellway for their very kind donation of £250 in support of Doveridge Tennis Club.

“We are a small local organisation seeking to maintain the two tennis courts for the benefit of village residents – old and new – and Bellway’s donation will make a real difference to our efforts to improve the courts over the coming year.”

Sales Director for Bellway West Midlands, Marie Richards, said:

“Doveridge Tennis Club is a key leisure facility for local people, and continues to be a great source of entertainment and wellbeing for the village.

“We are very pleased to be able to contribute to such a wonderful club, and we hope that the donation will help towards the maintenance of the courts.”

Bellway is building a range of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes at Dove Manor.
