Stories come alive for Kibworth pupils at storytelling session with David Wilson Homes

Stories were brought to life in front of the eyes of pupils from Squeaky B’s Nursery thanks to a storytelling event in Kibworth, organised by David Wilson Homes.

The homebuilder hosted the session in a show home at its Kibworth development, giving the children the unique experience of hearing tales told in a traditional form by storyteller Steve Stickley.

The event celebrated World Book Day, the biggest global celebration of authors, illustrators, books and reading of its kind. It has been designated by UNESCO and is marked in over 100 countries all over the world.

Debbie, Manager of Squeaky B’s Nursery, said:

“Squeaky B’s was thrilled to be invited along to our local David Wilson Homes show home in Kibworth to celebrate World Book Day with a story telling session with ‘Grandpa Sticks’.

“Our children love literacy and this really bought it to life with awe and wonder, making it a magical experience for them.”

Rachael Harrison, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said:

“It was a pleasure to organise this storytelling event for the pupils of Squeaky B’s Nursery and Steve’s stories really enchanted the children which was great to see.

“Events such as these give us the opportunity to make a difference in the communities where we build and promotes skills such as reading, writing, listening and creativity.”
