LEP Skills Conference Postponed Over COVID-19

The Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership has taken the decision to postpone its first ever Skills Conference next week.

The event, which was due to take place at the Lincolnshire Showground on Thursday 19th March, is now being rescheduled for Tuesday 13th October.

Around 400 people were expected to attend the event.

“Following lengthy discussions, and having received feedback from the business community, we feel we have no option other than to postpone next week’s Skills Conference,” said Pat Doody, Chair of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, who was due to host the event.

“Many businesses and organisations in the region are putting travel restrictions in place and policies which limit attendance at large-scale events.

“We explored other ways to stage the Skills Conference but it was important to us to host an inclusive and interactive event and it didn’t feel right to have the conference without businesses attending in person.

“In these circumstances postponement seems the most sensible option. However, we do expect to stage the LEP Skills Conference on 13th October and we ask all those with an interest in the skills agenda to save the new date in their diary.

“Thanks for your patience and understanding – we look forward to seeing you in October.”
