Shakespeare Martineau helps with sale of top London magazines

The corporate team in the East Midlands office of law firm, Shakespeare Martineau, has supported Threadneedle Media, a new London-based media company, with a management buyout of both Square Mile and HEDGE magazines. 

Founded by five of the brands’ original team members, Threadneedle Media aims to further boost the success of the publications by introducing a fresh new approach. 

Square Mile, currently celebrating its 150th issue, is a luxury brand targeting those working in London’s financial services industries. The magazine is distributed monthly to 60,000 executives alongside weekly newsletters and an online platform. 

The hedge fund community is a global business worth more than $3 trillion, with 20 percent of these assets controlled in London. HEDGE is the world’s only lifestyle magazine catering to these highly affluent hedge fund managers and has a distribution of more than 7,500. 

Shakespeare Martineau assisted in structuring the management buyout and supported on all legal aspects of the acquisition.
