How one Leicestershire Salon is giving back for International Women’s Day!

On March 8th, we will celebrate International Women's Day - a day of unity, reflection and action.

George’s Hairdressing has been inspiring the ladies and gents of Leicestershire for almost 40 years across its three salons located on Allandale Road, Granby Street and Oadby. But now they are the ones who want to be inspired!

Which is why this is the perfect time to kickstart their very own ‘Glamsformation’ campaign, to recognise the true efforts of inspirational women all across Leicestershire the best way they can – with a FREE session in the salon. This gives the opportunity for people to share stories of the women in their life who have gone above and beyond, whether it be a close relation, colleague or friend.

Although this campaign will begin on ‘International Women’s Day’ the nominations will run throughout every month, because after-all, Leicester is bursting with influential women, it would be an impossible task to just choose one.

So, how does this work?

On the George’s Hairdressing website, a Glamsformation nomination form will appear on the 6th March, where you have the opportunity to share a story about someone special. Then each month a winner will be picked, in which they will receive a cut, blow-dry and style with a complimentary glass of bubbly – all for free!

Salon Director Katie commented:

"The local women of Leicestershire have continuously inspired our work over the years, and we want to say a big thank you to them and Internationals Women’s Day felt like the perfect place to start. Hairdressers encounter the most inspiring stories every single day, especially through our Jakki Williams Room at our Allandale Road salon, and we want to use these inspiring stories to help or inspire others.”

Their Jakki Williams Room facility offers a comprehensive service for clients suffering from medical hair loss such as alopecia or cancer treatment. This service includes a full consultation costing just £25 which is redeemable off a wig, wig ordering, wig cutting and styling by senior stylists qualified through the MY NEW HAIR training programme. George’s Hairdressing also support The Bold Over Club, a support group for people suffering from medical hair loss. The group meets bimonthly on a Sunday at the Allandale Road Salon where people can meet others with similar conditions.

Do you have an inspiring woman in your life who you want to treat and pamper this International Women’s Day? Whether it be your mother, sister, friend or partner, George’s Hairdressing wants to hear why this woman is so extraordinary.
