New construction start-up podcast launches

Multi-disciplinary engineering practice Dice has launched a new podcast series that looks at the highs and lows and the constraints and successes that can be experienced when starting up your own business in the construction industry.

The Die Podcast is a new audible venture from the Nottingham-based start-up and features the business’ two founders Wayne Oakes and Raj Somal. The duo started the podcast in a bid to hear from like-minded professionals in the field, sharing some pearls of wisdom with listeners who may be looking to embark on similar journeys - or who just want to learn more about the process of starting a business in such a competitive sector. Those who tune in can expect to gain a wealth of knowledge from inside the engineering world.

Wayne said:

“We’ve learnt so much during our time in business and have really benefited from the knowledge shared with us by other business leaders in similar positions. We felt that this information should be shared further.

“Our industry needs creative thinkers who are willing to drive change. And that is exactly what this podcast series is encouraging; start-ups are certainly the way forward for the construction sector.”

Dice first opened its doors in 2018 after Wayne and Raj spotted an opening in the market for an agile, tech-focussed engineering consultancy that really and truly put the customer first. The team now comprises six engineers working on schemes across the UK - from modular housing developments to retail sites, student accommodation and commercial developments.

The first 37 minute episode features director and founder of Liverpool-based architecture practice Sound RBA, Adam Morgan. The episode is available to listen to now on Dice’s website and via soundcloud.
