Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

Opening the door to future success

A successful first year in business and ambitious future plans has led two Nottingham women to open the doors to brand-new office space.

Co-Founders Claire Dunn and Sarah King set up Work.by Design with the aim of helping 6,000 female founders start and grow their own businesses by 2025.

In the last 12 months they have helped and supported hundreds of women across the UK and felt the time was right to scale up with their own space at Bridgford Business Centre in West Bridgford.

Sarah said:

“It has been a busy first year for us here at Work.by Design. We have designed, built and tested a unique package of e-learning programmes, created an active online community space, released two publications and hosted a week-long Business Bootcamp for 150 women.

“We now have ambitious plans to step up our proposition even further. We want to support even more women as they figure out if entrepreneurship is for them, as they make the leap from their corporate or professional careers and begin to start and grow their businesses.”

Sarah and Claire both left senior roles in the corporate world to set up and run their own successful businesses before creating Work.by Design to offer practical and real advice to female entrepreneurs.

They have already picked up a business award for the work they’ve done, and the new office space will aid their plans for the future.

Claire added:

“This is an exciting time for us. The new office is helping us go from start up to scale up, as it enables us to be more focussed and productive.

‘We have ambitious plans for growth over the coming months which are based on our own findings and research into the way women view their own entrepreneurial journey and what they really need to support them to achieve success.”
