Production line to plot in four days: Nine new modular houses come to Newark

NINE zero-carbon homes have been built in just four days this week at a revolutionary new development in Fernwood, Newark. This is the fourth modular development built by Positive Homes - a Nottingham-based modular developer.

The Newlands site in Fernwood, Newark (NG24 3JX) has seen an empty plot of land transform into a housing estate with three terraces comprising nine high-quality and fully sustainable modular houses.

Three plots have already been sold subject to contract (STC) with the remaining plots being marketed by William H Brown. Nine houses will make up the three terraces, with mid-terrace properties priced at £175,000 and end-terrace plots at £180,000.

Each home, which is made up of two modules - a ground and a first floor – was precision-engineered by leading modular manufacturer ilke Homes at its factory in Knaresbough, North Yorkshire, before being delivered to Newark ready for the installation.

On Wednesday 22 January, the first modules were craned into place, ready for the finishing touches to be made.

Joining up the modules, roofing, laying the guttering and commissioning the power services inside will take place over the next few weeks with completion aimed for mid-February. Following completion, the first residents will then begin to move into their new property.

Every Positive Home has an energy performance certificate (EPC) rating of A and will feature three bedrooms, one bathroom, a downstairs W.C, lounge, a large open plan kitchen/diner, an entrance hall, off-road parking and landscaped front and rear gardens.
