Housebuilder trainees represent region in national award

A trainee sales advisor, technical co-ordinator and an apprentice joiner from Nottingham have been named as the region’s top Young Achievers in a national housebuilder’s award scheme.

Tim Eland, Aaron Curcher and Edward Burton have each been recognised for their hard work and dedication by Persimmon Homes Nottingham.

The trio each represented a different award category, recognised alongside counterparts from 30 other Persimmon regions in the Young Achievers awards.

Praised for his friendly approach, Tim Elland was nominated for Sales Trainee of the Year award. Aaron Curcher was selected for Business Trainee of the Year after been recognised for his attention to detail, while colleague, Edward Burton, from Emperor’s Court site, Clipstone, is Nottingham’s Trade Apprentice of the Year.

The Young Achievers award programme was launched by Persimmon Homes to showcase its apprentices and sales trainees who have gone above and beyond to succeed in their role.

Neil Follows, managing director of Persimmon Homes Nottingham, congratulated the trio, saying:

“The housebuilding industry offers many opportunities for young people to carve out a successful and long-lasting career, and the Young Achievers Awards were set up to celebrate those trainees who are already making an impact in the business.

“We feel it is important to reward those youngsters who have got off to a flying start and Tim, Aaron and Edward are all perfect examples of this.”

Tim joined the Nottingham team in May this year. His positive attitude and friendly persona has enabled him to swiftly learn the role while gaining excellent customer feedback.

Twenty-four-year-old, Aaron was new to the construction industry. His methodical approach, eagerness to learn and strong attention to detail has enabled him to be become a confident and capable member of the technical team.

Joiner Edward’s ‘can do’ attitude has proved a real asset to the Clipstone development. The 17-year-old who has successfully completed his first-year studies gaining excellent results.

Neil added:

“It wasn’t easy choosing the individuals to best represent our region. However, we feel that Tim, Aaron and Edward are shining examples of our future workforce and are well on the road to forging successful careers in the construction sector.”
