Oakwood Training nominates Leicester homeless charity as Charity of the Year

Leading mental health and personal safety company to support The Bridge Homelessness to Hope

Leicestershire-based Oakwood Training has nominated The Bridge Homelessness to Hope as its charity of the year for 2020.

Oakwood Training specialises in mental health and personal safety training and work with many large national charities and private sector companies. The company will be supporting The Bridge Homelessness to Hope in 2020 with £5,000 worth of free training/consultancy and will also be arranging a major fundraising event in the summer.

The Bridge Homelessness to Hope charity is based in Leicester and provides food, physical and mental health, and well-being services to support the city’s homeless community.

Gemma Streather, Director of Oakwood Training said:

“We feel that we have very similar values to The Bridge Homelessness to Hope and want to help them to achieve their vision. We chose them as our charity of the year because we feel that we'll be able to add real value by helping them to look after the wellbeing of their staff and volunteers, who all do such an amazing job in supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community.”

David Fawcett, Executive Operations Manager at The Bridge Homelessness to Hope added:

“We’re delighted to be working with the team at Oakwood Training and hope that their support will give a real boost to the services that we provide to the homeless and vulnerable in Leicester, and to our staff and volunteers.”
