Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

Insight and inspiration at Love Business

Although bringing people together, creating connections and providing ample opportunities for networking is a big part of what we do here at Love Business, it isn’t our only focus.

We want to make sure that everyone who walks through the doors to our expo not only has an enjoyable experience, but also gets maximum value out of their time with us.

That’s why, alongside the 100+ exhibitors and ample networking opportunities the event creates, we also try to put together a programme of speakers every year which informs, inspires and gives straight-forward, no-nonsense advice about overcoming a range of business challenges.

We also like to big up the region and talk about why Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire really are the heart of the Midlands… and the UK.

This year is no exception.

We’re putting the finishing touches to our speaker programme but have already secured some top-class speakers to share their knowledge and give delegates another reason to pay us a visit.

On the agenda this year, we have:

Ioan Reed-Aspley

Ioan heads up the external communications team at East Midlands Airport, overseeing its media relations, social media and stakeholder engagement.

A Coventry native, he came to Nottingham in the early 90s to study at Nottingham Trent University, then retuned a decade later as his career progressed with a national charity, a local authority and the NHS.

Ioan will talk about the key role that the airport, and the infrastructure around it, plays as a regional freight gateway and a national asset.

As well as providing holidaymakers with easy access to the beach or ski slopes, the airport is also a key hub for facilitating global trade to and from the UK. The impact of this on the region and wider UK economy is significant and, consequently, the airport is the stimulus for much of the region’s economic growth.

Andrew Bridgen MP

One of the region’s most prominent MPs, Mr Bridgen won the North West Leicestershire seat for the Conservatives in 2010, after spending 25 years running his successful family business, AB Produce. Prior to this, he attended local state schools and the University of Nottingham. He also trained as an officer in the Royal Marines.

During his time in Parliament, Andrew has been a prolific speaker and has campaigned on a variety of local and national issues, least of all in favour of Brexit.

Locally, he campaigned for grant funding to bring all the North West Leicestershire district’s housing up to Decent Homes Standards.

On the day, he’ll be giving an insider’s view on Parliament and the world of politics in general.

Ninder Johal DL

Ninder is the owner of the Nachural Group of companies, which includes a recording company and an events company which established the Signature Awards and the Nachural Entrepreneurship Awards.

A serial entrepreneur, he has been very active within the Chamber of Commerce network in the Midlands, as well as being involved in many development and strategic boards across the region.

He’s a Deputy Lieutenant for the West Midlands, representing HM The Queen.

As a passionate believer in supporting small business owners and entrepreneurs and helping them to grow, he will share some of his own stories about building an empire, as well as some inspiring insights into how to run a business.

Eileen Richards MBE

With more 20 years’ experience in the recruitment industry, Eileen founded Eileen Richards Recruitment, an authentic and bespoke recruitment consultancy which provides a uniquely tailored service to its clients.

Eileen has been recognised across Leicestershire as a leading woman in business winning both the Niche Businesswoman of the year and the Leicester Mercury Business Woman of the Year, Eileen has also been listed for an MBE for the Promotion of Female Entrepreneurship.

She is also active within the local business community and has been appointed as a Board Director for the East Midlands Chamber and a Co-Chair for Enterprising Women.
