A Lincoln business has revealed that the final quarter of 2019 was its busiest ever!

Specialist letting agency and property management company Student Housing added 30 new properties to its portfolio between October and New Year's Eve.

The addition of the 100 new bedrooms coincided with a significant commission just before Christmas, with Student Housing being asked to let and manage ten new flats to be built in the Old Bank on Lincoln's High Street.

Renovation work on the property, which has stood empty for two years, began this week and will be complete in time to welcome students in September.

Harry Conti, Director of Student Housing, expects the busy end to 2019 to continue into this month.

"January tends to be a very busy month as historically we see a rise in enquiries from landlords looking to change agents," explains Harry. "Landlords who've not yet found tenants for September start to get concerned and every year since we opened for business we've seen an increase in enquiries in the New Year. I can't see this year being any different and we're ready and waiting to help them."

As well as taking on new properties, Student Housing has also hired a new Lettings Administrator with Rob Everett joining the firm.

Established in 2015, the addition of new properties in the final quarter of 2019, takes Student Housing's portfolio to 1,331 bedrooms. Student Housing's next busiest quarter was in 2018, when it took on several new properties bedrooms, between June and September, adding 85 bedrooms to its estate.

As well as working with private landlords, Student Housing has seen an increase in interest from accommodation block owners looking to outsource property management.

"It's the next logical step for our development," continues Harry. "We are working successfully with lots of private landlords, who's properties have three or four bedrooms. However, we are also working with several owners of accommodation blocks that have 50 plus bedrooms. We're saving them time, hassle and money and we think that we will see more block owners coming to us to see how we can help them in 2020. In fact, we are in the final stages of being appointed by one company which operates a block consisting of 25 properties and almost 100 bedrooms!

Former University of Lincoln students Harry Conti and his business partner, Marcus Askam Yates, left their degree courses early to start Student Housing after struggling to find accommodation that felt like a home away from home.
