HSBC UK ties up deal for Lincoln clothing retailer

HSBC UK ties up deal for Lincoln clothing retailer

Coneys, a Lincolnshire-based designer and retailer of high-quality menswear, has opened a new store adjacent to its existing Lincoln site, after securing a business loan from HSBC UK.

To enable future expansion plans across the Midlands, Coneys has used the funding to open Cavani by Coneys in the shop next door to its existing premises in Lincoln’s historical quarter, providing the business an extra 1,000 sq. ft. of space. Featuring a ‘Peaky Blinders’ style of tailored suit, the Cavani collection has proven extremely popular since its introduction to the original store earlier this year.

Scott Crowson, Director and Partner at Coneys, commented:

“With lots of doom and gloom on the high street, our aim is to buck the trend whilst further integrating ourselves into the communities surrounding our stores. Over the years, Coneys has built up a loyal following of customers resulting in our original store starting to get a little crowded.

“Our collaboration with specialist tweed suits retailer, Cavani, has been a great success, in particular due to the huge Peaky Blinders fanbase and growing wedding market. When the unit next door came on the market, we saw this as the perfect opportunity to expand our physical offering.”

Ian Green, Relationship Manager at HSBC UK Business Banking Lincolnshire, added:

“Coneys has built an established clothing brand within Lincolnshire and the new store represents a significant step forward for the business. Supporting entrepreneurs with their business ventures is one of HSBC UK’s main priorities. The brand has ambitious plans to roll out more stores in the near future and we would like to wish them the best of luck.”

Coneys was established in 1992 and opened its Lincoln city centre store in 2010. The retailer has four stores and employs 28 staff.
