Accountancy 'adds up' success with two new hires and promotions in Nottingham

Leading accountancy firm UHY Hacker Young has strengthened its Nottingham-based team with the appointment of two new hires alongside two promotions.

Audit senior James Roper and semi senior accountant Eleanor Fletton have joined the accountants to support growing demand for the firm’s services in the region – as it continues to grow and diversify its client portfolio.

Alongside the new hires, UHY Hacker Young has also promoted Amy Clarke from supervisor to assistant manager and Victoria Clark to audit senior from audit semi senior. Collectively Amy and Victoria have been with the firm for more than ten years.

Speaking of his new role, James said:

“I wanted to progress my career and chose UHY due to its great reputation, large size and opportunities for development. I was really impressed by how UHY organises its team and supports its people in developing and working their way up the ranks. In my new role I’ll be leading and delivering audits within the team and expanding my knowledge with the new opportunities within the firm.”

Eleanor said:

“After previously qualifying as an accounts technician at my previous firm, I was keen to develop my career in an ambitious environment, and with UHY being a ‘top 20’ firm, I was eager to join its team here in Nottingham. It’s clear that the business wants to offer opportunities for you to develop, and I believe it has fantastic training programmes too.”

UHY is a major player in Nottingham and these changes will enable the company to push the business forward by leveraging its expertise to deliver the best service possible to new and existing clients.

Speaking of her promotion, Amy said:

“I joined UHY back in 2010 as a school leaver and have since worked my through the ranks with support from the business helping me to achieve my AAT and ACA qualifications.

“Here in Nottingham we have such a friendly and supportive team, which is one of the reasons I enjoy working at UHY. Alongside this, our mix of clients and assignments is so broad that there is always something to get my teeth stuck into. I am excited to be joining the management team and having my own portfolio of clients, similarly, I’ll also be able to take a more active role in helping and mentoring new starters, including graduates and school leavers – something I am really passionate about.”

James Simmonds, partner at UHY in Nottingham, said:

“Our Nottingham team is growing all the time and we are delighted that James and Eleanor have chosen UHY as the place to progress their careers and develop. Although welcoming new talent is a core part of what we do, it’s also really important to us to promote from within and help our people grow such as Victoria and Amy who have both continued to develop their skills here at UHY and build impressive careers with us.

“We take coaching seriously at UHY and believe it helps to develop individual and team talent, engage people in the business, boost performance and productivity, while delivering a thriving culture. We are certain Amy, Eleanor, James and Victoria will help us to continue delivering a fantastic service to our existing clients and help to push the business forward.”
