New Year chance to showcase best small businesses in the East Midlands region

Small businesses across the region are being urged to use the New Year to make an application to the East Midlands Federation of Small Businesses Celebrating Small Business Awards.

The Awards recognise all that is best about small businesses, with 12 award categories available to enter and closing date for applications being January 17th.

This year they include the Wellbeing in Small Business Award, building on the FSB’s successful work in advocating measures to improve wellbeing and mental health for the self-employed, small business owners and their employees.

Les Phillimore, FSB Regional Chair for the East Midlands said

“For a chance to be recognised as the best small business in the East Midlands, as well as the whole of the UK, I’d encourage all small businesses to use the New Year to enter the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards before the closing date of 17 January.

“The awards are completely free and really easy to enter. While we face many time pressures as small business owners my advice would be not to leave submitting your application until the last minute!

“ I would urge those considering entering to apply now and get your entry in early to avoid missing out on this fantastic opportunity to boost your business profile, and the benefits that being an award winner can bring.”

The 2019 East Midlands area winners included a fish and chip shop, a bid writer and a horsebox manufacturer.

The 2020 area winners for the East Midlands will be announced at an award ceremony on 5th March 2020 held at the King Power Stadium in Leicester. These winners, with the exception of the Community Business Award which is area level only, will then go forward to the UK final of the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards 2020, held in London, on 21 May 2020.
