Staff members collected various food items over a two-week period to help those less fortunate in the local community.
Many families across the UK struggle to afford basic items, with 4.5 million children living in poverty.
Between 1 April 2018 and 31 March 2019, the Trussell Trust’s food bank network distributed 1.6 million three-day emergency food supplies to people in crisis, a 19% increase on the previous year. More than half a million of these went to children.
Purpose Media Managing Director, Matt Wheatcroft said:
“Christmas is such a special time of year, but it can be incredibly difficult for those struggling.
Purpose Media decided to make a food parcel donation to help make a difference to local families who are struggling this Christmas.
We’ve added everything from tinned beans and pasta to special Christmas treats like chocolates and biscuits – so everyone can enjoy a little treat this year”.
Wendy Comins, Project Manager at the South Normanton Area Foodbank thanked Purpose Media for its donation:
“Our foodbank relies on the generosity of others and we thank the team at Purpose Media for their kindness and charity this Christmas.
The food donated will help make a huge difference to those in need in the local area”.
Purpose Media donated 22.55kg to the South Normanton Area Foodbank.
