Over £10,000 raised for Leicester charity at Opera Night

On Thursday 6th December, over £10,000 was raised for Leicester charity Hope Against Cancer at a sold-out night of Opera.

Taking place at the renowned Jewellers, Lumbers of Leicester, the evening featured British-Ukrainian mezzo-soprano Rozanna Madylus.

Rozana Madylus has been singing for over a decade. After studying at the Royal Academy of Music, she became a member of the Royal Academy Opera and Academy Song Circle. A multi-award winner, Ms Madylus repertoire covers opera staples such as The Magic Flute, Rigoletto and The Barber of Seville. Other singers featured on the night included soprano Julia Sitkovetsky, baritone Ross Ramgobin and tenor Alexander Aldren.

2019’s opera offering was a huge success. On top of the fantastic amount of money raised, it was an evening for the Leicestershire community to come together in support of a great cause. Various companies sponsored different parts of the night. Law firm Glynis Wright & Co were the headline sponsors, with property consultancy Pick Everard sponsoring the evening’s drinks. Design agency Juice Creative supported the event through sponsoring print. Other  sponsors of the night included: 360 Autoleasing, Kazzoo IT, Virtual Assistant, Tax Assist, Berkeley Estates, Signs Express, Hanlon Hospitality, Utility Warehouse and PRP.

Hope CEO Nigel Rose said:

“I’m so incredibly proud of the Leicestershire community - all Hope supporters in their own right - for coming together and making this a night to remember. It’s been a marvellous evening of culture and celebration, which has raised an extraordinary amount of money for Hope Against Cancer.”
