Leicester maker debuts in Amazon Handmade video

Amazon has chosen a Leicester-based family business Robertson Cheney and its founder, woodwork artist and maker Joseph Burton, to feature in its latest Amazon Handmade video.

One of only 2 makers shortlisted in the UK, the new video went live last week and has already had 1.4million views.

Amazon Handmade's mission is to bring its customers a range of products crafted by local Artisans and Makers around the world and to support small business.

Robertson Cheney is one of those small family businesses, made up of Joseph, with a little help from sister Ella. The company creates unique woodwork art, furniture and home décor products, handcrafted from reclaimed wood. Old doors, windows and pallets are sourced locally and using eco-friendly, non-toxic dyes and oils are turned into tables, coat and towel racks, mountain art, trays and more.

Joseph Burton, who founded Robertson Cheney in 2016 and says,

“I’m so thrilled to have been shortlisted by Amazon and featured. We’re a small business that’s keen to grow and having this video professionally produced and promoted on Amazon Handmade is a great opportunity for us. Our customers are very often new home owners and many of our unique products are bought as gifts. We’re hoping this helps us to raise our profile to a new level in the all-important run-up to Christmas."

Robertson Cheney is an artisanal brand that’s focussed on its environmental impact and passionate about protecting the environment too.  All waste wood chippings are donated to local farms and recycled packaging materials are used wherever possible.

Products are available from Amazon Handmade, Etsy and the company’s own website – www.robertsoncheney.com
