Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

Nottingham agency adds global indoor leisure chain to growing client base

East Midlands web, ecommerce and digital solutions developer MP Digital has been awarded the contract to build a bespoke online booking system for the UK’s leading chain of indoor climbing centres – its second major client win of the year.

Hot on the heels of securing the brief to create the booking platform for the world’s first Angry Birds Adventure Golf attraction, the Nottingham-based firm was tasked with building a new system for Clip n’ Climb to help it manage the pressures of a growing multi-centre leisure business which takes tens of thousands of enquiries and reservations each month.

Clip ‘n Climb is an innovative climbing-based concept for leisure facilities, which comprises 36 unique climbing challenges that are accessible to all. It offers activities with a variety of themes to appeal to visitors of all ages and abilities.

With a UK head office in Lancashire, it operates more than 50 across the UK, with local centres in Nottingham and Derby, and at iconic venues including Blackpool Tower, Meadowhall and the Bluewater Shopping Centre. It is owned by Entre-prises, a global leader in the design, manufacturing and installation of bespoke climbing walls to leisure facilities around the world, including 265 international Clip ‘n Climb centres.

MP Digital, which also has Angry Birds, gaming giant Namco UK, Warburtons Bakers and fitness equipment manufacturer Wattbike as clients, was tasked with building the bespoke new booking system capable of being supported for the next five years.

It will provide Clip ‘n Climb centres with a fully unified solution that would allow it to manage session capacities and take bookings online in the same way.

Vicky Coupe, Clip ‘n Climb’s UK Sales Manager, said: “MP Digital has been an absolute pleasure to work with on our new booking system.

“They quickly turned around a brand new, bespoke booking system that many Clip ‘n Climb centres are now using and we have already seen an impressive response from users.

“We now have the assurance that our system is reliable and has a low percentage of downtime which is important to us and our centre owners.”

The system has been introduced to multiple centres with great success, with uptime at 100% since launch and the number of issues reported to the Clip ’n Climb falling by more than 90%. The bookings conversion rate across all centres has increased by 25%.

MP Digital Director David Maran said: “The aim of our solution was to provide more flexibility to centres while improving the customer journey, with the ultimate aim of generating more bookings. With a high volume of visitors coming from mobile and tablet devices, it was also crucial that the system was optimised for use by mobile devices.

“For a business of our size to be working with such prestigious national clients shows we are punching well above our weight and enhances our reputation for delivering bespoke, reliable digital solutions which generally make life easier for our clients and their own end-users.”
