Wilson Vale is ranked in top 10 of the UK Foodservice Growth Report

Independent catering company, Wilson Vale, has appeared in 8th place in the annual AlixPartners Foodservice Growth Report, a listing of the UK’s top 20 most dynamic and best performing companies within the UK foodservice sector.

This year’s ranking brings Wilson Vale up six places on last year and places the independent caterer into the top ten on the list.

Wilson Vale is also one of only two operators (the other is Westbury Street Holdings) to appear on the listing for the seventh consecutive year since it was introduced in 2012.

Prepared by AlixPartners and EP Business in Hospitality, the report shows that Wilson Vale achieved 18.3% compounded annual growth in adjusted operating profit over the past three years. Turnover has increased by 16.2% over the same period, from 2016 to 2018.

Now one of the few independent caterers of scale operating within the sector, Wilson Vale has a portfolio of 99 clients, mainly within the corporate sector, conference venues and independent education. Turnover is forecast at £35million for year-end December 2019.

Hartshorne man, Andrew Wilson, co-founder of Wilson Vale, said sector:

“It’s a great honour to appear on this listing again this year, and particularly, to be in such good company. While many of our competitors have gone down the acquisitions route, our strategy of steady and organic growth continues to drive our success and reputation.

“Seven years on since the report was first launched, there have been many changes in our business as we are constantly evolving and improving but what has remained consistent is our focus on relationships, craft skills, people development and a bespoke offer.”

Graeme Smith, managing director of AlixPartners, said: “Another excellent performance by Wilson Vale this year to continue its ever-present status in our annual report. This is a great achievement in what is a dynamic and competitive market place and speaks to the value that clients place on consistency and quality.”
