Mark Gratton joins Wise Living as development and land manager

In the latest phase in its ambitious plan to build and manage thousands of rental homes across the UK, Build-to-rent (BTR) specialist Wise Living has appointed Mark Gratton as its development and land manager. In his new role Mark specialises in working with regional and national developers looking to expand into the private rental sector.
Mark joins the team with a strong background in the BTR and wider property sector. He started his career with national property consultants and chartered surveyors, Fisher German before working as development surveyor at Rigby & Co in Derby. During that time, he advised a number of BTR investors, helping to identify sites and put together deals to get schemes off the ground.
With successful Wise Living developments in Birkenhead and Telford, ongoing work in Mansfield and work due to commence on a project in Coventry, Mark’s responsibility is to forge strong relationships with regional and national developers to demonstrate how the Wise Living model can benefit them, help them grow and de-risk their developments whilst also creating strong communities.
Talking about his appointment, Mark said:
“I’ve joined the Wise Living team at an exciting time. We have a really great pipeline of projects and with the recent £33 million round of funding from real estate investors ICG-Longbow, we have the funds in place to match our ambitions.

I’m looking forward to strengthening existing relationships and forging new ones with housebuilders and developers that are keen to move into the growing BTR market, and work with us to create great places to live!”
Wise Living is the build-to-rent division of the SDL Group, which was named Nottinghamshire’s fastest growing business in October. Andy Deller, director at Wise Living, believes Mark’s experience is a valuable addition to the team.
