Luxury waterside student accommodation commences on site in Nottingham

Students studying in Nottingham from next year will be able to choose from a range of accommodation within a brand-new development by the city’s canal after work started on site for the Boulevard Wharf scheme.

The project will be built by leading regional contractor Stepnell and is scheduled to open in time for the 2020/21 academic year.

This substantial development will consist of 66 studio apartments across three buildings and is situated on Castle Boulevard, providing views over the canal and towards the city.

Designed by MAS Architecture, the scheme will also feature high-spec communal areas, including an on-site fitness suite and cinema room. The rooms themselves will benefit from high-speed internet access, Italian furnishings and Japanese style WCs in the en-suite bathrooms.

Tom Sewell, East Midlands’ regional director at Stepnell, said:

“Nottingham has excellent potential and we are really pleased to be part of the exciting use of an inner-city brown field site

“It is important that the city can offer a unique living experience - as well top academic facilities and resources - and we are delighted to have been chosen as the construction partner for this fantastic development. Once completed, the scheme will be a strong addition to Stepnell’s portfolio of education sector projects and will emphasise the company’s growing presence within the East Midlands.”

Muthar Al-Salloum, managing director of MAS Architecture, said:

“This is a prestigious development that we are really pleased to be delivering. Boulevard Wharf will provide a new level of much-needed contemporary student accommodation within Nottingham city centre - providing all the necessary facilities onsite - thus creating a  luxurious environment for students to thrive in.”
