Nottingham retail stars crowned at glittering awards ceremony

Nottingham’s top retail talent has been recognised at this year’s intu Victoria Centre and intu Broadmarsh Retail Awards.

Now in its fourth year, this year’s event was held at Nottingham’s Penny Lane bar and was hosted by ITV’s Love Island star Curtis Pritchard.

The awards mark a key date in the intu Victoria Centre and intu Broadmarsh calendar and are the culmination of a four-week public vote where shoppers have the chance to cast their votes for the retailers that have gone the extra mile to make their shopping experience extra special.

Taking place across all intu’s 14 UK centres annually, the awards feature a total of 15 accolades including best Children’s Retailer, Men’s Retailer, Women’s Retailer and Tech Retailer.

Nottingham Street Food Club was crowned overall star of the evening after scooping a total of three awards for Food and Drink Retailer of the Year, World Class Customer Service and the all-important, Retailer of the Year award.

Further successes from the night included wins for River Island, JD Sport, Office and Boots for the Women’s Retailer, Men’s Retailer, Footwear Retailer and Health and Beauty Retailer awards respectively.

Special praise also went to the Disney Store, which took home the award for Children’s Retailer of the Year for a fourth consecutive year.

Commenting on the evening’s successes, Nigel Wheatley centre director at intu Victoria Centre and intu Broadmarsh, said:

“The intu Victoria Centre and intu Broadmarsh Retailer Awards are a special occasion for us. They are a fantastic opportunity for our visitors to tell us what they think about the shopping experience they receive, while giving our retailers the chance to come together and celebrate the efforts of their colleagues from the past year. A big congratulations to all the worthy winners!

“It’s also a celebration of all the hard work across the year. Things have been busy - redevelopment works are now well underway at intu Broadmarsh and we’ve had some exciting new additions to intu Victoria Centre too. Popular beauty brand Morphe opened last month and Fenty beauty by Rihanna arrived in Boots, as well as new eateries including Clean Cut Kitchen and Chopstix, giving our visitors even more to enjoy.”
