Wildgoose Construction commits to tackling mental health by signing pledge

Derbyshire firm Wildgoose Construction has signed a pledge to commit to promoting staff health and wellbeing.

The Alfreton based company has joined the growing number of employers committing to end the stigma and discrimination against people with experience of mental health problems.

Executive Chairman Jonathan Wildgoose signed the pledge with Time to Change, which is a campaign run by the charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness.

In a statement, both charities said:

“In the UK there is a general lack of knowledge about common mental health problems which are thought to affect as many as one in four people. This means that someone you know may be struggling with mental .. Wildgoose Construction is proud to sign MIND’S Time to Change Employer Pledge to demonstrate the company’s commitment to combating the stigma surrounding common workplace mental health issues.”

So far, a total of 1,172 employers in the UK have signed the pledge. Over the next 12 months Wildgoose has pledge to:

  • . Increase the awareness and knowledge of every employee in relation to mental health in the workplace
  • . Put in place increased support from employees across the business
  • . Develop our managers to ensure mental wellbeing is a priority for current and future employees

The company’s full commitment to creating a mentally healthy workplace will be published on the Time to Change website.

A Time to Change spokesman said:
