Accountants feeling flush with funds for wear it pink day

The team at Leicester-based chartered accountants Newby Castleman is preparing to count up the cash from its collection boxes after participating in Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day 2019.

Each year in October, the firm recognises Breast Cancer Awareness Month by swapping suits and ties for a range of pink clothing and accessories in order to raise awareness of, and funds for, Breast Cancer Now’s ongoing research into the disease.

This year’s wear it pink day – Friday 18th October – saw staff at Newby Castleman dress up and dig deep en masse in honour of both the worldwide campaign month and the designated day.

Joanne Chilton, Partner at Newby Castleman, said:

“Breast Cancer Now is a charity close to the hearts of many of our staff, and wear it pink day is a great impetus for workplaces such as ours to club together and contribute to this incredibly worthwhile cause.”

Since its first event in 2002, Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink fundraising event is one of the biggest in the country, with £33m raised to date for lifesaving breast cancer research. The charity focuses on ways to prevent breast cancer, how to detect the disease earlier and how best to treat it at each stage. To find out more, go to www.wearitpink.org/about.
