Expo website leads the way for Staffordshire businesses

Let's Do Business is an exclusive annual B2B conference and networking event which attracts hundreds of delegates from a broad range of business sectors across Staffordshire.

The county-wide exhibition sees members the Staffordshire and the Greater Birmingham chambers of commerce come together to network, make new connections, attend business growth seminars and, ultimately, do business.

Taking inspiration from our very own Love Business East Midlands Conference and Expo, which Quiet Storm founded in 2011, the day has become the Chambers’ flagship event, which aims to create a platform for anyone who wants to promote their business and network in the local business community.

The event has helped to put Staffordshire on the map as a great place to do business.

Over the past couple of years, it has attracted a host of top names as guest speakers, including former TV ‘Dragon’ Rachel Elnaugh and The Apprentice contestants Harrison Jones and Michaela Wain.

Love Business is a template for success

In 2015, we were approached by Chris Plant, Divisional Director of Greater Birmingham Chambers, who had attended Love Business and was interested in launching a similar event for businesses in Staffordshire.

We worked with Chris initially by providing ideas and support to help him get the event off the ground and make it a success, based on what we learned from delivering Love Business successfully for several years in the East Midlands.

We were also tasked with developing a standalone website for the event, which reflected the brands of both Chambers and contained information about the event and an ecommerce booking system, based on the bespoke technology we created for our own Love Business website.

The site, www.letsdobusinessexpo.co.uk, provides a self-serve booking solution for those interested in exhibiting, a floorplan and real-time exhibitors list, and a news portal featuring content from Chamber members and businesses either visiting or exhibiting at the event.

Chris Plant said:

“Let’s Do Business has established itself as the highlight of the business calendar for Staffordshire. It is always fantastic to see businesses networking, forming new partnerships and relationships and helping each other to develop and grow.

“We were struck by the way that Love Business enabled businesses from across the East Midlands to come together to make new contacts and potentially fruitful prospects and wanted to replicate their model here in Staffordshire.

“Working with Quiet Storm was great because we benefited from the lessons they had learned about what went well and what could have gone better during the early years of Love Business.

“We have also been able to give the event a permanent online home with the website, so our members can engage with the Let’s Do Business brand all year round, and not just at the event.”
